Daily Painting #56 Broken In

I love these boots. I wore them today on a hike at Spanish Pond Trailhead in Jacksonville, Florida. Upon putting them on the shelf, I noticed how handsome they were and I realized then... They needed to be painted.
Materials used:
Oil paint, Gamsol ordorless mineral spirits, Escoda Modernista Sintetico #2 and Rosemary & Co ultimate long flat #4. I started with an evergreen short flat #0 but it didn't have the look I was going for. The surface is a 9"x12" hardboard panel. I painted over the black sky with rain because I thought it would be interesting to work in reverse since I've never painted on a black surface before.
Thank you for following, see you tomorrow!
