Daily Painting #27 - Washington Oaks Gardens State Park

What a beautiful park and the trees, oh the trees were magnificent. This tree caught my eye with it's twisted trunk. I believe it is a Juniper tree, also known as a Atlantic White-Cedar, or Red Cedar, however upon research, I found that there are no true cedars here in the United States. Junipers are actually part of the cypress family. Their current scientific name is Chamaecyparis thyoides.

I used oil paint, linseed oil, odorless mineral spirits, painters panel and Escoda Modernista brushes.
